Four letters. That's the difference between a suppressor tRNA that barely registers and one that restores full-length dystrophin. Nobody had ever restored full-length dystrophin in Duchenne. Not once. Until today. Our paper is out in Science Advances. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Altered ribosomes help explain how an enzyme fuels tumor growth
A new Northwestern Medicine study has identified a previously unknown mechanism by which an enzyme promotes cancer cell proliferation, establishing it as a promising therapeutic target for cancer, according to findings published in Nature Communications.

Amid the rush to burn DEI infrastructure to the ground, it’s worth remembering that the goal was never favoritism. It was a fair shot for people long excluded by unconscious or real bias — prominent scientists, including Nobel laureates, openly argued some “races” were innately unsuited for science.

Funding freeze at Northwestern from Emma Mairson at grant-watch.us. Data from USAspending. Normally, ~$70 M per month. Now, bupkis. Northwestern is keeping research moving and must be spending ~$40 M per month. Clearly not sustainable for too long.
