Ok but this is really a huge thing. Had a chemistry teacher in hs who invented a popular medical device for diabetes, pharmaceuticals have the rights. My grandpa invented an herbicide and this was way in the past so he was treated well but was never rich. Like we genuinely reward the worst folks

Yes, I know a woman who left engineering for the same reason. She was a TA and once got cat calls from basically a whole class. The professor scolded them, but it was the last straw kind of thing.
