The way I see it, anything you do that helps you survive is a win.

Why are you reading/creating when the world is burning? Those who lived under the nazis have said again and again that music, books, journaling, helped them hold onto their humanity int he face of a regime determined to crush it. This too is resistance.

I wouldn't blame it on social media, though social media does make it easy for some to get caught in this. Others use social media for ideas and discussion. But the shift to spectator from participant is not new and the cause is capitalism. Our identity became consumer. And here we are.

The things about social media no one admits: it trained an entire generation to perform living instead of actual living. The sunset isn't experienced; it's captured. The meal isn't tasted' it's photographed. The experience is secondary to the documentation. You're producing content about a life you're not full present for.

It is the old story of the frog in the pot. If the heat is turned up slowly, the frog is cooked without even realizing what has happened.

I don't think people fully comprehend what is happening. We are being priced out of luxury. We are being priced out of normal. a house, car, groceries, childcare, insurance. These weren't extravagant expenses 20 years ago.

Not just crazy stuff, but outright lies. There is just so much of it. Even if you follow the news there is no way to track it all. And that's just the stuff we know about. Their plan was always to flood the zone".

I for one think it's bad that the president can just say crazy stuff all day every day and 99% of it doesn't make the news because we've normalized having an insane president.

$It's hard to grasp just how badly humanity is handicapping itself by excluding all solutions that can't generate a profit. There's a whole vast spectrum of potential solutions of troubles we face as a species, and we're limiting ourselves to a tiny, shitty fraction of it .$

Covid shifted this for many. For the first time, and never repeated, the government stepped in to keep us alive. The system was activated to deliver money to a lot of people, via unemployment, including self employed. It was a nightmare as the system was inadequate, but it was a lifeline for many.

The more it annoys either an upper class or middle class person, the more I am in favor of a lower class person getting something for free.

A lot of women in the arts. All those are being cut too. Art, music, performance to name just a few. Women got to be creative.

I have a pollinator garden. Plants are covered in bees. Also see hummingbirds, dragonflies, and butterflies. It wasn't planned, but it ended up coming together.

The monarch butterfly population has gone up this season by 64% and one of the reasons is because people are planting pollinator gardens. Look what we can do together with a common goal in mind. We need to plant more next year as their population is still not stable.

The cruelty is always the point. At this time, it looks like the regime underestimated the resistance. There is some comfort there.

There's a strategy behind Trump's posts: push the boundaries, normalize the degradation, and hope the public eventually shrugs. But democracies don't survive on numbness. They survive on people refusing to let cruelty become the standard.

They have "more money than god", so it's not about the money. The hit from the wealth tax won't even affect them. It's always been about power and control.

The billionaires aren't afraid of losing money due to wealth taxes. They are afraid the money will go back into society and end their ability to have easy exploitable desperate humans do theirjobs for minimal compensation.
