Newspapers really were a miraculous thing. People would wake up in the morning and find a short book on their doorstep that told them what was happening in the world. We have a rectangle that does something similar, but it's cursed. Newspapers weren't cursed. You could wrap fish and chips in them.

The biggest misunderstanding about HR1 (big beautiful bill) is that it was about work requirements or error or fraud. The point was to make it impossible for eligible people to access benefits by requiring them to navigate an endless array of impossible bureaucratic obstacles.

I have never paid more than $4000 for a car. I’ve just not been able to. I am aware of all the benefits that come from spending more up front. I have just never been able to afford that outlay. I am not unusual in this. EVs are a great concept but just a theory for many of us.

Our Great Dane is not scared of fireworks but rather feels it's her duty to bark loudly and persistently at them. Normally we make her come inside when she's on a barking tear, but tonight we're just letting her go off and drive everybody nuts on behalf of her scared comrades cowering inside.
