6/n: These free EM cells also have a randomly distributed Myosin signal, compared to the more rearward distribution in native EM cells within the ectoderm. We conclude the ectoderm maintains the natural morphology and migration behaviour of EM cells.

What matters most for childhood brain organization? We analyzed 649 variables. The answer: Socioeconomics (SES); with brain patterns pointing at sleep & stress as drivers. Even brain-IQ associations were better explained by SES. In Science today: www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Starting to write up the first mechanistic paper from my lab about regulation of endosomal PI(3)P. We see retromer tubules (Vps35) budding from PI(3)P positive sorting endosomes with Actin at the neck. When PI(3)P homeostasis is perturbed this organisation breaks down and cells cant recycle cargo.

1/ Our new preprint is out today.🎉 It started from a surprising control experiment while studying how talin binds vinculin. We were using the widely adopted A50I vinculin mutant to disrupt talin binding — but unexpectedly, it still bound talin. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

We show that under low ahesion conditions Tensin 1 forms endogenous condensates to store inactive adhesion components. These can be released upon stress-mediated Tensin 1 phosphorylation to regulate adhesion dynamics.

Mix two motors of opposite polarity with microtubules and they will partition space ! Microtubules will get organized in polar and active barriers, sorting the two motors in separated domains, leading to the emergence of a new type of patterns. #morphogenesis doi.org/10.1073/pnas... (1/n)
