Work has been so crazy that we missed our 11th wedding anniversary. Luckily my parents texted us wishes on the day so we had time to book last minute dinner. Such a clear example why we all need work life balance to remember that there is life outside of our research questions/ jobs!

But the bigger issue with the current UK funding system is that it allows universities to constantly speak down academics by claiming their research costs them more money than the benefits it brings. We need more funding for research that is actually spent on research.
