UPDATE!: I am absolutely stoked that the second paper of my PhD is now out in @natcellbio.nature.com :D. We combined lipid imaging, STED microscopy, and mathematical modelling in a super cool team effort to quantify lipid partitioning inside clathrin-coated pits. www.nature.com/articles/s41....

Allison's list here is glorious. This one below reminds me of my 22 year old son's "sacred last bean". He's loved beans since he was 6 months old - as a toddler, we'd notice him toddling around after a meal with a bean tucked in the cheek. Cruising with that sacred last bean persists to this day. 🧵👇

My dad was also a family doctor in Santa Rosa, CA (~50-100k folks in my youth). One of the only providers who took more Medicare & MediCal patients during a phase when each of those visits cost him real money. Immigrant families brought food in lieu of money & that food was shared in his office. 🙏🥼🏥

My dad was a small-town doctor who made late-night house calls on most nights I can remember growing up—and to my personal knowledge forgave (or delayed) payments from people who were on hard times. This story makes me want to move to Kansas and spend next 5+ weeks canvassing.
