Is euchromatin really “open”? 🧬 Using super-resolution imaging🔬 our new study @natgenet.nature.com reveals: Euchromatin forms condensed domains in live cells. Cohesin constrains them and prevents domain mixing for proper transcriptional insulation🚧 🔗 www.nature.com/articles/s41... (1/2)

How do we watch chromatin make developmental decisions as neurons are still alive? Tomorrow I have a poster at the Neural Dev GRC. We engineered biosensors that visualize chromatin states inside live neurons. The next frontier isn’t more sequencing it’s watching chromatin biology unfold in 4D.

How long do polarity proteins and their partners survive as a neuron prepares to migrate? Liam Hallada has answers today at the Neural Development GRC poster 13. Using a HaloTag pulse-chase imaging strategy he maps protein stability with spatial resolution in and around cell adhesions!

I have had the privilege of watching this Lab grow from its inception in 2007 to the powerhouse it is today. If I could pick a spot to do good science and a mentor to navigate the postdoc phase of my journey, I'd be knocking on this door humbly asking David if I could be of service to the mission. 🧪

Mind blown 🤯 from Chris Laumonnerie's talk at our Department seminar! Newborn neurons in the developing brain aren't just cholesterol consumers... they're active PRODUCERS too! 💥 Paired with a brand-new biosensor that lets us watch this cholesterol economy in real time: slick data incoming 🤩

Help chromatin friends! Looking for a paper and AI is failing. Study used CRISPR tech to perturb a variety of chromatin regulators to determine their functional importance on a number of different TFs. Main outcome was that different TFs = different chromatin regulators
