This Green Party insider theory that Keir Starmer was consciously laying a cunning trap for Zack Polanski seems rather a stretch! (New Statesman, 30th Sept issue) www.newstatesman.com/politics/gre...
Then there’s the conference. Some Greens think Starmer quit in order to trigger a make-or-break by-election just days after the party’s upcoming – and potentially controversial – yearly gathering. He knew, so this thinking goes, that Polanski wouldn’t be able to resist running, and so a trap has been laid for him.

Later, he claimed Mamdani never commented about the recent stabbing of an NYPD detective. Mamdani talked about the stabbing several times, including the below statement where the mayor notes he visited the injured officer:
Earlier today, an off-duty NYPD detective was stabbed several times in the Bronx during what preliminary information indicates was an attempted robbery.

I visited the detective and his family at Jacobi Hospital with Police Commissioner Tisch.

He is thankfully in stable condition, and I am hoping for his quick and complete recovery. I am confident that the NYPD will identify and apprehend the suspects and that the people responsible will be held to account.

The three big problems with the Tories’ new strategy
The Tories have finally noticed their only route back to power goes through the prosperous seats in the home counties and city suburbs lost to the Liberal Democrats and Labour.

Matt Goodwin is still raging about British Nature on British banknotes "The war against our past" 🫠 (Churchill fiver is from 2016 btw)
X-Twitter post by Matt Goodwin @GoodwinMJ

Bumblebees, puffins, barn owls and hedgehogs will feature on the Bank of England's next series of banknotes, replacing Winston Churchill and other British historic figures. It's been confirmed today. I wrote about the war against our past back in March

[Link to blog] Jane Austen, JMW Turner and Alan Turing will also be removed from currency as part of a major redesign

What the removal of Churchill is really about

This prompted me to go back and check the claim that "On current DWP forecasts, from the 2024 election until 2030, Labour will have increased working-age benefit spending by a further £51.6 bn/year." It appears to be equally fictional/spreadsheet error. Correct figure is maybe £36bn..

ICE-Gestapo shot a man in NYC with his 5 year old son in the back seat, then they rammed through protesters who were trying to block their vehicle from leaving the scene. I’ll say it again and again, ICE aren’t agents or law enforcement, they are terrorists, murderers and white supremacists.
