Correct. A friend drew my attention to this way back in 2016: the very reason why people were inclined to dismiss him as a serious contender — his clownishness — was exactly what made him most dangerous, because it is simply impossible to sustain an atmosphere of moral seriousness around him.

Either the Green Party is a democratic member led organisation where motions passed at conference are binding or it's one where leaders can ignore any passed motions they do not like. It cannot be both.

Green Party conference just voted in favour of this motion, and this time, in the hall itself, specifically voted against an amendment which would have removed the element about “Zionist Synagogues”. As a result, for most Jews the Green Party will now be considered to have a policy of antisemitism.

June Hunter is a Canadian photographer. She specializes in the local crow population. For over fifteen years, Hunter has been photographing the same groups of crows in her neighborhood almost daily. She knows many of the birds personally and follows them on her popular Urban Nature Blog.
The fine art photograph shown is originally titled Solitary Crow. The work was created by digitally combining a photograph of a bare winter tree and a crow with texture images of elements such as an atmospheric sky and lichen.

I want you to imagine people deciding you are unworthy of a basic level of standing in general society, based on a belief you hold specifically *because the last 2,000 years of the history of your people has shown, repeatedly, that it’s not just rational, but vital, for you to hold it*.

As I said the other day, if you treat Zionism - which is *the belief to the Jewish people’s right to a country in their historic homeland* as racist based on how history has played out, both Communism & Palestinian nationalism are racist horror shows too. No such motion for them, naturally.

Jungian, John Perkins on our forbidden self.
The self we might live-the real self-is the forbidden self. Our ambitions are far more collective than we think. In the context of these strivings for competence and success, our uniquely real selves are often marginalised. In the collectively programmed environment of the well-adjusted and successful person, it is a high crime to live one's genuine life in depth. A role must be successfully played, or we lose face. In a climate of collective conformity, an authentic man or woman is often considered to be a nobody. Such a prejudicial programme is not only all around us in our society; we internalise it and callously reinforce it inside our very beings. We are embarrassed about the unconventional outsider in the deep recesses of our souls. But this does not prevent our implicit integrity from gnawing at us. We long to meet this side of ourselves, but we generally seek it in a projected and sentimentalised form. Suitably clothed and equipped we roam the countryside, or the backyard, in search of our forbidden authenticity.

John Perkins, The Forbidden Self

Apparently people are trying to doxx Cornell’s Jane Doe. I have never felt so concerned about a Jane Doe in my entire life. I am shaken. It is so incredibly difficult for women to pursue justice. Sexual assault causes higher PTSD rates than war. This excerpt is by Rebecca Solnit.
former Marine David J. Morris, author of a book on post-traumatic stress disorder, notes that the disorder is far more common and far more rarely addressed among rape survivors than combat veterans. He wrote me, "The science on the subject is pretty clear: according to the New England Journal of Medicine, rape is about four times more likely to result in diagnosable PTSD than combat.
Think about that for a moment-being raped is four times more psychologically disturbing than going off to a war and being shot at and blown up. And because there are currently no enduring cultural narratives that allow women to look upon their survival as somehow heroic or honorable, the potential for enduring damage is even greater."

A 2,300-year-old silver container in the shape of a scallop-shell decorated with an octopus 🐙 It may once have held cosmetics. From Paternò, Sicily. Altes Museum, Berlin 📷 by me #Archaeology
My photo shows a silver shell-shaped container with an eight-armed octopus in relief at the centre of the lid. The arms of the octopus curl outwards across the ridges of the shell’s surface. This ornate shell container has a hinged lid and may once have been a cosmetic container . It is displayed on a clear stand in a museum case. Dimensions: 13.3 × 13.2 × 3 cm. It is part of the Silver Treasure from Paternò, Sicily, a hoard discovered in 1909, consisting of tableware and toiletries. Dated 4th-3rd century BC.
