“Lynching” in the US is not a singular phenomenon. The lynching you are describing is a “racial terror” lynching. There were “public spectacle lynchings,” which have elements of the former but are not identical. There are also “legal lynchings” which were the summary use of capital punishment.

I don't blame you for having the perspective that you have. I'm not here to convince you that you should feel any differently than you do. And I understand the shitstorm that you went through recently with an asshole user. We've dealt with similar issues, and I was rooting for you. LLMs, like any other tool such as a hammer or a weapon, are not inherently good or bad; it depends entirely upon who wields them. Without going into too much personal detail, I have been a professional game developer for a quarter of a century. I am now the Technical Director at my studio. Starting in late 2025, we received a mandate from our parent company that we needed to start adopting AI in our development processes in order to remain competitive and avoid getting shut down. Did we like it? No. Have all of our experiences been positive? No. Have I seen some good come out of it? Yeah, to be honest, a little. But we have no choice because if we don't do it, the studio gets shut down and a bunch of super talented developers will lose their jobs with very little hope of finding another in today's job market.

This is, with all due respect, what we call an "excuse". And I get it! I know a lot of people, I have a lot of friends, who are under similar mandates at their jobs. That they have to do x% amount of code via agent, or they have to use $x in tokens per month, or whatever.
I get it. Between "lose your job" and "compromise", I understand that compromises have to be made. If you must use AI on the job, then you must, and I don't hold it against you.
