"but you won't get enough Republicans to convict" So what. It's not like there's some other more effective option lying around you can do instead. And it's a total failure of imagination to think the only thing that matters is the final roll call.

Not just impeachable. Impeachment, both pres. and agency heads, is the only option. It's impeachment or nothing. Courts won't stop it. Other tools are impotent. Put them on trial the only way you can. Even if you can't get 2/3, use process as punishment. Make it miserable and costly. It can be done.

I believe fraternity hazing and military hazing and sports team hazing where men abuse each other is acclimating them into a broader culture of abuse where they will then believe it is their right to abuse other more vulnerable people. It’s so insidious. And that’s also why I think men defend it

Yep. And again: it is _always_ an ideological decision. The dumping of humans, after internment and notional process, in countries they've never seen: quite alright for now, no rush here. The justices will get to it when they get to it.

To quote a @chrislhayes.bsky.social jape at the Roberts Court: "They go fast when they want to go fast and slow when they want to go to slow and the decision is *always* an ideological one."
Steve Vladeck, a professor a Georgetown Law, writes up breaking developments from the Supreme Court. The last post in the three-post thread is the kicker, for our purpose here.

"#BREAKING: Over dissents from the three Democratic appointees, #SCOTUS grants a stay in the third-country removals case; clears way for Trump admin. to continue removing non-citizens without a full chance to litigate the conditions in those countries (while also taking up the full merits appeal).

Yes the fact that we, as a society, obviously posess all the wealth necessary to not only fix the chronic problems but also have everyone live a life of comfort and plenty, and only don't do that so like, car dealership owners can buy a 60 foot boat instead of a 40 foot boat — bad for the vibes!

Maybe the reason the economic vibes are so off isn't that things are *worse* than the great recession but because back then we all thought the pain was temporary, whereas the things that are wrong with the economy today have all been getting worse for a long time and show no signs of improving

This is the most important thing men can do, and they must be doing it immediately. People create culture. People can change it. If you can't remember the last time you created some social awkwardness by telling another man to stop with that shit, you probably aren't pulling your weight.

When an engineer says “no historian ever took engineering classes” I just think, I did! I took math. What you do in an intro history course is as close to the academic study of history as math is to engineering. Its basic building blocks! You didn’t master history in history 101, have some respect

Four editions of The Mathematicians’ Library are arranged on a patterned surface: the Polish edition, German edition, Japanese edition and Spanish edition.
