When the original Pokemon games were released in the late 90s, I would sit in the back of my OChem classes at Pitt and Poke the mons throughout lectures. Science profs did not give a single fork. (same at UIUC and UWY) Unlike the humanities where class participation is baked into the pedagogy.

The more I see this at US (and Canadian) universities the more I wonder if the only applicable use for LLMs at universities is to replace all the top level administrators. I feel AI would not be able to fuck up higher Ed any worse than ignorant presidents, chancellors and Vice whatgevers.
