I know this isn’t useful but it’s weird how “the president should be coherent” was a Very Important Thing just a few years ago and then suddenly wasn’t.

I also really think Dems need to air ads pointing out that Trump never sent anyone a Doge check or a tariff check. Because everyone wants five grand. It’s insulting and illegal but I bet you it works on a lot of people. Remind them that his promises are worthless.

AI is an employee who never says no, never talks back, and who has no emotions, so you're free to be an asshole to it without consequence. Certain men have been fantasizing about this for their whole lives. They will happily burn the world down to create it.

The people talking about the dignity of being, say, a welder, have never welded anything. And as far as “the pay is actually good” arguments go, the starting pay is good. The pay a few years in is good. But there’s a ceiling and it hits at about the same time the physical toll of the job does

The techno-dystopia I actually fear is a future where most people think truth is whatever Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok say, and the very small number of people who control those systems use that to manipulate for their own ends, making our current epistemic crisis seem small in comparison.

One of the best questions we can all ask these days is, “How?” It’s simple and smart and a non-answer tells you as much as an answer. Skynet is going to kill is? How? We are moving to the moon? How? Build a big net around earth? How??

For a long time I've wanted a sense of how trump has or hasn't interacted with chatbots (we know he posts a lot of slop sure). And this TIME anecdote about Grok arguably leading Trump into war is just extremely bracing
Since returning to office, Trump has marveled at AI’s capabilities. He is increasingly in thrall to the tech executives courting him. In December 2025, Elon Musk returned to the Oval Office for a clandestine meeting. Trump spent hours asking Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, questions about his presidency and legacy, according to an official present. At the time, Trump was ordering missile strikes against Venezuelan boats he alleged were smuggling drugs into the U.S. He asked Grok how Venezuelans would react if the U.S. captured Maduro. According to the official present, the chatbot responded that Maduro was a repressive and deeply unpopular dictator and that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall. After Trump ordered the mission to seize Maduro, the following month, celebrations broke out in the streets. Trump, according to officials, came away thinking Grok was ingenious.

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.
