Can relate.
Weltschmerz (German: [ˈvɛltʃmɛɐ̯ts] ⓘ; literally "world-pain") is a literary concept describing the refusal or incapacity to accept the world as it is, creating a deep sadness at the state of the world.[1][2] It results in "a mood of weariness or sadness about life arising from the acute awareness of evil and suffering".[3]

Michael Joseph Savage’s principles are not marxist. If anyone does think that, they are part of the far-right’s long campaign to take over social democracies’ economic systems for the benefit of the rich only. . Fair tax for all and services for the whole of society is then deemed communism.

I remain *more* uneasy with this than with, say, the case of a great researcher who is garbage at writing (or writing in the desired language) & gets an LLM to convert their findings into prose. I think there’s an untenable implied dichotomy between the ideas or arguments and their prose expression.

These are innately supremacist narratives, the endings of which we know. The ideas “fit” into contemporary concerns on the surface: young people’s mental health & wellbeing, future tax bases for future states, egalitarian policies for distribution of resources. But don’t be fooled.

In times like these, it’s important to pay attention to the grand unifying narratives ideas are hooking on to. Like that children are there to be controlled by adults, like babies and birth are commodities to be controlled by the state, like citizenship is a state more valuable than non-citizenship.
