Excited to share our latest work! We asked if and how TDP-43 regulates RNA transport in neurons and if this is misregulated in ALS. We found that it works to keep RNAs *out* of neurites, and that loss of TDP-43 activity results in specific RNAs aberrantly accumulating there.

So. It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year. I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

I have 31 students applying for 3 undergraduate research spots in my lab for the summer. It's heartbreaking to know we already aren't able to provide enough opportunities for research training, and that it will only be harder with the fallout from the current attacks on science. 🧪
