Fluorescence lifetime-based biosensor for monitoring compartmentalized autophagy dynamics in the intact mammalian brain
Synaptic architecture underlies neuronal computation, with autophagy serving as a key regulator of synaptic plasticity, function and local metabolism. Yet, autophagy dynamics and regulation within int...

Pathogenic proteotoxicity of cryptic splicing is alleviated by ubiquitination and ER-phagy
RNA splicing enables the functional adaptation of cells to changing contexts. Impaired splicing has been associated with diseases, including retinitis pigmentosa, but the underlying molecular mechanis...

I'm very happy with how this image turned out and can't even wait for #FluorescenceFriday! I'm trying to detect Tau protein phosphorylation before forming full fibrillary tangles in #Alzheimer disease. Healthy neurons: (🟠NeuN), Dying neurons: pTau ( 🟣422), (🔵AT8). More info in the Alt tex! 🧠🔬
Microscopy photo showing the hippocampus, a brain structure that plays a key role in memory and cognition, with Alzheimer's disease. Different fluorescence dyes in the image show healthy neurons (in orange), as well as neurons dying accumulated phosphorylated tau protein in different stages of cell death (cyan and purple).
