Summary of a fic called The Misadventures of Dr Shrimp (about half the size of a coconut) by Temporal_discounting.

The summary reads Ed Teach is having a hard time. Burnout, that's what they're calling it. Ed calls it drowning. But an unexpected knock at the front door brings Ed face to face with the most beautiful man Ed's ever seen — a man in search of his missing pet tortoise.

A plan forms in Ed's mind: Find the tortoise, snag the man.

A digital illustration of a frame shot from Our Flag Means Death. The image is of Stede grasping onto Ed before he pulls him in for a kiss. There is a golden arch way above them with a single flame, shining light between them. Ed is glowing with pinks that transitions into dark purples. Stede has golds and pinks for his silhouette. Surrounding them is a night sky with twinkling stars that arrange from purples and pinks while the bottom half of the image is pink dreamy, billowy clouds.

#WIPWednesday for the second chapter Breaking the Cycle, my collab with @intheblanketfort.bsky.social! Stede and Ed don’t need an excuse to be friends! Now if only Stede weren’t feeling that pesky attraction to his new pal 😏 #OFMDfanfic

Stede moves closer to Ed and crouches down so that he’s closer to eye-level. “Cycling gives me great clarity of mind. Maybe it will be the same for you. Or if not, we do buy back some gently used gear!”
“If I don’t take to it, can we still, uh…” Ed hesitates, looking down at his knees before looking up at Stede. “Still hang out?”
Stede feels a rush of joy. “Of course! You still have to teach me to ride a motorcycle, but also… perhaps we don’t need an excuse? Friends?”
Ed grins, relieved. “Friends.” He stands and reaches his hand for Stede to grip. Stede puts his hand in Ed’s, and there’s a little frisson at the contact.
Ed pulls him upright, and Stede almost loses his balance, falling forward towards him. Ed puts two steadying hands on Stede’s upper arms. “Whoa.”
Ed’s lips are right there, and if Stede leaned forward just a bit… but no, he mustn’t push his attentions onto his new friend. The bell on the shop’s front door tinkles, signaling a customer, and Stede steps back.
It looks as if Ed’s face falls, just a little, but the moment passes. Stede decides it’s just his overactive imagination.
