Question for #OFMD crew fic writers! What hobbies/skills/stuff have your fics inspired you to try/acquire? I'll go first: Please Let Me Hold You has so far inspired me to learn to knit and garden. It also introduced me to Maurice by E.M. Forster 😍 & convinced me to buy the 1000+ page Skyrim guide!

#WIPWednesday from the next chapter in Please Let Me Hold You. Stede trolling Lucius is so fun haha!

Excerpt from an OFMD fanfic titled Please Let Me Hold You. Text reads:

After this, he texted Lucius with a smug half smile plastered on his face.

Stede: Lucius!
Lucius: Are you texting me on a Sunday?
Stede: Obviously, yes.
Lucius: Ok, I am seated because I’m guessing this is momentous
Stede: Nothing momentous. I am just letting you know that I won’t be in on Saturday. I’m sorry I will be missing your book club, too.
Stede: I did read the book though?
Lucius: Yeah no problem
Lucius: Hot date with Ed? 👀
Stede: I guess so. I’m helping him move.
Lucius: WAIT
Lucius: MOVE WHERE?

Stede’s smile grew wider as he let several minutes pass by sorting some more clothes, listening to his phone blowing up. At last, he returned to his phone.

Excerpt from an OFMD fanfic titled Please Let Me Hold You. Text reads:

Lucius: IS EDWARD TEACH MOVING INTO YOUR HOUSE STEDIFER BONNET?
Lucius: OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lucius: 😭😭😭
Lucius: I’m guessing you spiraled into asking him finally?
Lucius: Or did you ask him entirely calmly without freaking out at all in the slightest?
Lucius: Stede you answer me now!!!
Lucius: Oh my god he’s moving THIS WEEKEND!!
Lucius: Jfc you were worried he would think it’s too soon
Lucius: And he’s literally packing this minute
Lucius: I am not above telling you I told you so
Lucius: I TOLD YOU SO!
Stede: I asked him this morning while we were making breakfast.
Stede: And we just agreed that he would be able to move in this weekend!

I haven’t been able to share my final tally of garden harvest yet because the tomatoes are still coming in and the butternut squash decided it needed a second life, watermelon is confused and is growing two more, and I haven’t pulled up all the carrots, green onions, leeks, or sweet potatoes yet.

Much to my surprise, I had inspiration this morning for my “Irish story” as I call it. My reimagining of the Fionn/Oisin legends. No one will care, but I wanted to post it anyway because I like it. It’s a moment that comes much later in the story. 1.

“Lonn, this is foolish,” Dalva said, taking hold of his brother’s arm, but Lonn shook him off. “He’s in the Otherworld! He’s not going to hear you.”

Defiantly, Lonn cupped his hands around his mouth and called, “Oisin!” He marched on, thundering through the carpet of leaves as Dalva followed reluctantly. “Oisin!”

“What do you even expect will happen?” Dalva demanded, despite knowing that trying to reason with Lonn was futile. “Do you think he will give up Tir na Nog for us? His father and sister are there. Niamh is there, and he will live forever with her.”
