the funniest thing about the "we don't trust the media" people is that they will trust literally anyone else. like, if you have an image and text, they'll buy it. shaking keys at babies type logic.

I've seen a lot of posts claiming Geller was a rapist before he became a progressive and I've consistently seen two missed points in those posts. 1: Not all sexual assault is rape and not all rape is Lifetime TV movie stuff. But far more importantly. 2: Progressives commit plenty of rape.

the thing that always struck me about greek life was how almost everybody is acting in some level of bad faith: everybody knows it's abt hedonism, privilege, and exclusion. students don't actually believe it's abt brotherhood and nobody they say this to believes that they believe it, either

Again, only <Republicans> get to talk about US citizens, let alone human beings, let alone other elected officials, like this. Which is why it's so exhausting to listen to Ezra Douthglesias & everyone else tell Democrats that they need to moderate & stop talking funny & reach out to Real Folkz.

That's where I've been for a while. We can't even reach questions about the death penalty itself because we fail essential predicates such as "fair and consistent criminal justice system" and "reliable death penalty verdicts that leave no reasonable doubt" and, as shown tonight, "humane execution."

everyone lucked the hell out on the terror attack today where the co-pilot stabbed the pilot, passengers took down the attacker *and* there seem to have been two off-duty pilots who were able to land the plane safely. Could have been one of the worst attacks for a while otherwise.

Californians: you're going to hear about the Starter Home Revitalization Act a lot over the next few years. In short, it legalizes small-lot infill ownership homes (ie townhomes and cottage courts) by-right everywhere housing is allowed, with strict approval deadlines similar to those for ADUs.

Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.
From DISCVR blog's Facebook page, a momma bear & a yearling cub on her back in the shallow water. I think the background has been swapped out, and I can't rule out some AI use there? God, Facebook has become the social media for AI slop : (

The title of the article, which I link below, is "How Bear 89 earned the name Backpack"
