“Partisans and conspiracists” could be shortened to “Republicans” to save space and promote truth.

Hey, I’m just asking questions. Ignorant questions, bigoted questions, questions that have been repeatedly answered for many years. Sorry, but I’m not listening to answers right now; I’m far too busy asking questions. It’s called being intellectually curious.

This hed and post would’ve earned me an immediate failure in journalism school. You, the reporter, cannot write that ICE “mistakenly” did something; you can write that an ICE spokesperson *says* the action was a mistake, but you cannot assert this as truth.

Unpopular opinion: When someone is factually wrong about something important—eg vaccination—telling them that they’re wrong is treating them with respect. The condescending thing to do is indulge them, act like they have a point, as if the thing you know to be wrong might be at least somewhat right.

A question that some people in media asked me as a thought experiment was: would u have traded Obama losing to Romney in 2012 in exchange for trump never being president and part of my answer is: it’s the same political party

These are the kinds of “Yeah, of course” statements that bear repeating—often and as-is. During an argument w/ a MAGA former friend about voter ID, I just kept repeating “Voting should be free.” Any sputtering, contrarian caterwauling or what-abouting was easily defanged by this plain statement.

This is an undeniably true and provable statement and because of that, it can be reasonably inferred, SAT-question-style, that anyone who votes GOP is either racist or is OK with racist policies and leaders. (Does that make the latter group racists? I say yes; not sure of the SAT logic, though.)

OK, small point here, but it’s almost certain he meant “parameters of a deal,” but he can’t spell and is very dumb, so he used “perimeters of a deal” and news orgs are just running with it like that’s a perfectly normal thing to say, which it absolutely is not. That’s not a thing anybody says.

This is why I keep saying we need to stop granting their premises. "We have to do something about how immigrants These Days don't assimilate." And we get all our charts ready and show them the numbers and they go on to the cat-eating accusations. We need to say "shut the fuck up, bigot."

I’ve long wanted to write (and once unsuccessfully pitched) an article about how Lindsey Graham sleeps at night, not in the flippant idiomatic way, but literally. How does a person so slimily pull a public 180 like he did and actually live with himself? Is it a lack of shame or guilt? How? Why?

Like every patriotic American, I am celebrating the Confederate defeat at Gettysburg and the Union victory at Vicksburg this weekend, which just happen to line up with the days (July 3 & 4) that the Declaration of Independence was published and widely distributed. That’s why we celebrate, right?

The very idea that anyone has an actual right to control whether the people around them speak their language or share cultural touchstones is flatly ridiculous. Sometimes the world you grew up in disappears! It may make you feel isolated and lonely, but you are not entitled to that world.

All it takes is one loudmouth Dem to make this An Issue. Hammer it in every interview, demand investigations, do a grandstanding floor speech, make and wear a stupid fucking pin about it. Flooding the zone with shit only works because no one has yet grabbed a single issue and held onto it.

I’m so tired of politicians telling us that we, the people have the power to change government but then not fulfilling their part of the basic premise, which is acting on our behalf. The whole point is that they’re supposed to pitch ideas on how to make things happen and we give them power to do so
