Ignorant western liberals: "I'm a socialist, but not a communist." Me: "What do you think socialism is?" Them: "The same as capitalism, but we have socialised healthcare, rent controls, free education and stuff." Me: "I wish it were possible to show you just how ignorant and stupid you are."

the american university system is a series of property holding companies and hedge funds that due to arcane rules is required to occasionally hand out academic degrees for tax purposes that also exist to organize large scale sexual violence against women. it cannot be salvaged.

A truly heinous man has doxxed the Cornell victim on X and the comments are predictably vile. Based on countless interviews I’ve done with survivors, the trauma they are subjected to for coming forward is oftentimes even worse than the initial trauma they experienced. There is no real justice system

like i say every time this comes up, the term for what awaits survivors who go through the official system (cops, rape kit at the hospital, the hell of a trial where you as the victim get to be cross examined by yr rapist’s defense) is called “the second rape”

The National Post is using language that seems wildly irresponsible and dangerous here Citing ancient “Jewish law,” it labels Avi Lewis as a “rodef” The ultranationalist extremist who assassinated Yitzhak Rabin rationalized his killing on the same basis: www.theguardian.com/world/2020/o...
None of this applies, however, when a Jewish person presents a clear and present danger to the Jewish community. When that happens, Jewish thought is much more forceful: you must prevent the perpetrator from
causing harm.

Jewish law developed two character sketches to describe such scenarios. The first is known as a "mosar" — a Jewish person who informs to oppressive
authorities, potentially leading to the imprisonment, torture or death of community members. The second, called a "rodef," refers to a Jew who is actively pursuing another with the intent to harm or kill them. In both scenarios, the law is clear that a Jew is duty-bound to step in. Protecting the community and its members is the most important thing. It was around then that Yigal Amir, an earnest law student, made up his mind to kill the prime minister. Later he would insist he was not swayed by extremist rabbis; he had reached his own decision that Rabin - through his willingness to cede territory and to allow the creation of a Palestinian Authority, with its own armed police force - was a rodef and therefore a legitimate target. He got a weapon easily enough. With his brother, Amir was working on the creation of an anti-Palestinian militia. Nor was access difficult; on at least three occasions before the rally, Amir attended public events where Rabin was present. He was waiting for the right moment: he didn't want to shoot and miss.

A meme, on top are the words: The moral "high ground"
Below those words are a bar chart, numbers on the left go from 0 to 2000, in 200 increments, and on the top left of the chart are the words "People killed (in millions)"
On the left side of the chart is a very small blue bar that goes at most 1/5th of the way to the 200 million line. Below that bar is the word "communism", and standing on top of it is a white cartoon bunny with a red star on its chest and a green hat on its head with a red star on it.
On the right side of the chart is a much taller blue bar that reaches up to the 1600 million (or 1.6 billion) line, and under that bar is the word "capitalism". On top of that bar is a crying wojak saying to the white bunny "Your ideology is evil!!"

I really love this chart. I'm guess that the correlation here (.85) is about as big as you would find for any other variable. Also, a less serious scholar than @tesler.bsky.social (namely me) would have made a crude Freudian reference to the slope of the line.
Chart shows a close positive relationship between Trump's 2024 vote and Google searches for testosterone boosters.
