Some flavour of neurodivergent. Some flavour of queer. Not normal about LotR, Leverage, Doctor Who, SPN. Cat person. She/her. [Banner is a pretty sunset over grassland. Avi is selfie of a white woman with short, salt and pepper hair, and Doctor Who shirt.]

Imagine if you knew someone who hoarded billions of mustard packets. More than generations of their family could ever use. You’d reasonably assume they’re mentally ill. And that would be a reasonable assumption for hoarding basically anything, but when it comes to money, people see it as admirable??

"Where are you hiding the dreamies, motherfucker??"
• A young, nude Oedipus stands pressed tightly against a chimerical Sphinx. The Sphinx has the body of a lion, wings, and the head and breasts of a blonde woman.
• The Action: The creature leaps onto Oedipus's chest, digging her claws into his skin and gripping his flesh. Instead of flinching, Oedipus stands completely calm and holds his spear steady, locking eyes with her in a piercing gaze.
• The Foreground: Human remains—including a severed hand and foot, a king's crown, and a laurel wreath—lie scattered among the rocks at his feet, signaling the deaths of previous travelers who failed the riddle.
• Setting and Symbolism: The vertical, narrow composition features a dark, archaic background. Behind Oedipus stands a bay tree (sacred to Apollo, representing high human achievement), while a fig tree stands behind the Sphinx
The Theme: The painting illustrates the moment before Oedipus answers the Sphinx's riddle, symbolizing the triumph of spiritual intellect and moral force over base materialism and animalistic instinct

The image is of a four panel comic. The title reads "Poltergeist".
In the first panel we see a woman with a worried expression on her face. She says, "stuff keeps moving around my house."
In the second panel the same woman says "I'm terrified. I can't sleep."
In the third panel we see a ghost holding a candle and a pillow that reads "live laugh love". The ghost is zooming through the house.
In the fourth panel we see the same ghost hanging up a frame and thinking, "home decor is my passion".

Professional photograph of a squirrel leaping down from a branch at a very startled-looking owl. The owl’s yellow eyes are wide as it looks over its shoulder up at the squirrel who clearly has zero regard for his own life, his mouth open as if shouting WITNESS ME, or potentially some sort of justification for this surprise attack, Inigo Montoya style. Whatever the Owl has to say in return is definitely in all caps.

And here again is my favourite ever Batman poem...
Batman’s aff his nut
Have you seen the way he cuts aboot
Dressed up as a mad fuckin bat
Batterin guys
I was lit at:
“Mate, I’m worried aboot ye
I know your ma and da died
But everybody’s ma and da dies
And we’re no aw runnin aboot
Hookin muggers and
Kickin psychopaths in the baws.”
And that was when Batman went
“Aye, but do ye ever feel like it?
Do you ever look at the world and feel like it?
Like having a big mad base under your hoose?
Do you ever feel like drivin a big mad motor
that turns intae a tank?
And leatherin fuck oot of guys aw night?
Scarin the fuckin shite oot of them?”
And that’s when I was lit at:
“Aye. Fuck it. Ah dae.”
And that’s the Secret Origin of Robin
And everyone else.

alt:
Elder man in black--coat, pants, and his signature wide-rimmed hat--sits on a geometrically ornate bench of white-painted metal, in the middle of a field of tall grass and yellow flowers.
This is Terry Pratchett, and his snow-bearded and bespeckled face is smiling, as his right hand caresses a furry, brown and black boar, and his left rests a frankly ridiculously-sized bottle of (presumably) champagne on his lap. Beside him, on the bench, a stack of five books (probably his own work). What an incredible fucking picture.

More people need to understand 'the right to swing your fist ends where it meets my face'. Politicians have been metaphorically pummelling the faces of trans people, asylum seekers (and non-white immigrants), and people with disabilities. Of course people are angry.

Result isn't everything. History, effort, or skill adds value & meaning. A hand-knitted jumper is different from one bought at Primark. A golden Temu ornament will never be the Sistine Chapel. I held my breath through this video - an office furniture maker in Ankara. Amazing. #GoodMorning, everyone.

Me: I don't get it. I thought I was doing a lot better than I was a few years ago. I'm like 10 times more on top of things than I used to be. How does everything feel terrible now?

The Tiny Me in OSHA-approved Hi-Vis Gear Who lives in my brain and pulls all the levers: Boss, it's the fascism. You're completely gunked up with cortisol due to the fact that your entire daily life is now underscored with a haunting awareness of the rapid erosion of your rights, dignity, and any and all social safety nets, and you're also bearing witness to the most vulnerable people immediately being persecuted. This creates a natural stress response that basically means you're going to continue having memory and organizational problems, as well as emotional imbalances.

Me: BUT I HAVE A BULLET JOURNAL AND I MEDITATE NOW.

Tiny OSHA Me: BOSS, THE FASCISM.

It's time for the public to learn that public services cannot run on the concept of doing more with less. When there are large cuts to services that rely on public monies, people should feel the results. Libraries, universities, etc. need to stop trying to lessen the visibility of funding cuts.
