I had this idea from reading the elizabeth holmes mouse post and then I couldn't do anything else until i painted the idea to completion
It is a cartoon mouse, like Jerry from Tom and Jerry, shaped like a wedge of cheese presumably because it has eaten a wedge of cheese. The mouse has Elizabeth Holmes' face. The mouse is saying "Why would I deceive you? There's no reason for me to do that."Nathan Fielder, looking into a fridge where the mouse has eaten a cheese, says skeptically "Okay. Alright."

I don't think I've ever talked on Bluesky about why I hate the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl. Don't read any further unless you're prepared for uncomfortable truths about the "Nicest Guy in Rock", and his very substantial body count & subsequent cover-up.

Not really sure where a bunch of liberals got the idea that they can’t win without throwing trans people in the garbage, but they’re stupid and cruel and wrong. If you want a human sacrifice so damned bad put gavin newsom in the wicker man

I just honestly can't get over that Save Women Sports, an anti-trans group could only find five trans athletes competing K through 12. Five. The NCAA president testified a year and a half ago or so that there were less than 10 college level trans athletes. What the fuck are we doing, people

WORF: Captain, an unidentified vessel is on an intercept course.
PICARD: Send a hail, Mr. Data.
DATA: Yes sir.
DATA:
DATA: Sir, the vessel has left us on read.
PICARD: Hail them again.
DATA: The vessel has turned off read receipts, Captain. However, our sensors indicate they are still communicating with other vessels.
WORF: Outrageous! Arm photon torpedoes!
PICARD: Belay that order.
WORF: But Captain! This is a great dishonor! We can clearly see them posting but they do not respond to our hails!
PICARD: They do not owe us the emotional labor of a response, Mr. Worf.
RIKER: Mr. Data, can you check if they've made any wideband subspace vagueposts since we hailed them?
DATA: There has been one vaguepost, sir, referring to a "rando" vessel that is "obsessed" with them.
PICARD: Arm photon torpedoes.

Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft. Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1

so the official bluesky policy position is that you can't tell someone to kill themselves but you can tell a protected minority category that you hope that state kills them. Am i getting that right.

it’s wild that the heritage foundation wrote in text that the assault on trans woman particularly in sports is their first step in their efforts to completely abolish all Title IX protections and liberals still don’t believe it’s about more than trans women in sports

The only responsible attitude for liberals and progressives to align on is that all right-wing grievances, claims and believes are not only false, but malicious lies. Nothing passes the mouth of an American conservative in public life that is not meant to harm and destroy the lives of millions.

I am a complete sucker for a good concept album. During the few years that gave us American Idiot & Welcome to the Black Parade, a band called The Thermals released the absolute killer album The Body, the Blood, the Machine. The album is about a young couple trying the escape a fascist Christian US.
Album art for the body, the blood, the machine.

The top of the art is a sunset. The sun sets behind a mountain of broken TVs and scrap metal. On the left are thunderclouds. On the bottom right is Earth. The middle bottom is Jesus with a black censor bar over his eyes.

The fundraising texts you delete are working on someone. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking. An 85yo in Ohio gave more than double the value of his home. A 91yo in an Indianapolis senior facility gave 25K times. The DCCC/DSCC don’t just tolerate the spammers who exploit seniors. They take part.

uhhhhh
investigation was originally developed for The New York Times, where it underwent eight months of editing, multiple rounds of fact-checking, and independent replication of the underlying methodology. The piece had a scheduled publication date when requests for comment were sent. It was only after the Times reached out to the subjects of the investigation for routine comment that the Elias Law Group, representing the DCCC and DSCC, sent a cease-and-desist letter demanding the paper not publish. Although the paper's fact-checkers and legal department later cleared the piece before sending out a second round of requests for comment, the Times ultimately decided to kill the piece.3:27
a4democracy.substack.com
The piece was subsequently slated for publication at The Bulwark, where it underwent additional fact-checking, data verification, and legal review. When requests for comment were sent to the subjects of the investigation, lawyers representing the Progressive Turnout Project and Mothership Strategies likewise responded with legal letters demanding that the article not run.
From there, publication was repeatedly delayed. The piece cleared successive rounds of legal review. When I asked for a committed publication date after months of delay, The Bulwark conditioned publication on my accepting an extensive rewrite prepared by its editors that, in my assessment, removed key empirical findings without explanation, introduced claims contradicted by the data and fact-checking record, and presented the subjects' legal defenses as my own conclusions. When I declined to publish under those terms, the piece was released back to me.
