Missouri Republicans really want to run the midterms on a racist MAGA map. Last Monday, the 8th Circuit said yes. On Friday, SCOTUS was like 'wtf, man' and smacked down the 8th Circuit for ignoring TWO prior orders requiring use of the non-racist map. The ruling ended up helping Black voters. 👀

Oh, it’s even worse. To be very clear—I support trans people and think this whole thing is bullshit. But title 9 also creates a pathway on campuses and federal spaces for people who have been sexually harassed, stalked and assaulted to be protected and seek investigation.

Trans athletes should be accepted, and should be able to win and succeed just like any other athletes, and a trans athlete winning every so often is not evidence that there's an underlying truth in banning them.

Discrimination against us isn't just bad because the hypothetical issue is tiny. The entire basis people have for believing it is an issue is false. Plenty of people think the bans are too discriminatory but that they are based in "common sense", and that's wrong, and should be pushed back against.

I mean, the science of it is worth getting into. These bans have no scientific backing. Research has mostly failed to show that trans athletes have any real aggregate advantages after a couple years on HRT. If there *were* a large number of trans athletes it wouldn't make the bans correct, either.

Tierra Walker is dead because of Texas's abortion ban. The medical exception was supposed to let doctors act in an emergency. She asked for an abortion, for months, because she believed the pregnancy would kill her. Doctors kept saying "your baby is fine." *She* wasn't. She died December 30, 2024.

Elon Musk, unlike Louis Farrakhan, actually does have billions of dollars and was actually running large parts of the government where he generally cut government spending that in his view was associated with Black people as much as he possibly could.
