Thing I don't think we talk about enough: California's gasoline consumption has declined from 15.6 billion gallons in 2017 to 13.2 billion today. A 15% drop in consumption, while real state GDP increased from $2.7 trillion to $3.4T in the same period. Data from CA Dept of Tax & Fee Admin and FRED.

LA got all its transit off diesel over decade ago. We need to electrify and expand regional and intercity rail. To protect our residents from oil shocks, as well as for speed, frequency and clean air.

I'd love to read more reporting in the local press on the sentiments of LA Millenials going into the November elections. 30-39 year olds are the cities largest cohort, followed by 20-29 year olds. I don't think we've seen enough coverage of their frustrations with how things are going.

We may seem some genuinely extreme humidity levels along SoCal coastal plain Tue-Wed (yes, even worse than today). As Marie's tropical moisture lingers, temps of 90-100F will combine with dew points of 70F to nearly 80F (!), yielding heat index values as high as ~110F. #CAwx
