This is reckless, dangerous, and unhinged. Four million Angelenos are not bargaining chips.

LA is HOT. But does it have to be this hot? Did you know shade from a single tree can drop temps by 20° or more? Yet working-class neighborhoods like South LA, East LA, and the Valley get the least tree coverage and bear the brunt of extreme heat. Let's finally cool things down for everyone.

This campaign is about rejecting the political establishment that isn’t delivering for Angelenos. I'm running for Mayor to make our government work for people, not corporations and powerful interests.

The Trump administration wants to impose an English-only mandate on Head Start. As a mother and an immigrant, I'm outraged - and LA has seen this playbook before.

Big news! In the latest Berkeley/LA Times poll, we’ve surged ahead of Mayor Bass with an 11 point lead. This poll reflects the momentum we’re seeing on the ground. Angelenos are ready for change and want to see a City That Works.

Los Angeles ranked LAST among the 100 largest U.S. cities for housing affordability & homebuilding in Realtor’s 2026 Metro Report Card. This is a crisis that requires an urgent solution. Rent is too high, homeownership is out of reach for too many Angelenos, and the mayor has no plan to fix it.

Angelenos, I’m going to have to endorse @nithyaforthecity.bsky.social for mayor. (I know you’ve all been waiting.) Listening to how she wants to govern makes her such a no duh choice.

We hit the road to ask Angelenos: "How do you feel about $100 million per year of YOUR taxpayer dollars being used to pay for the Convention Center expansion for the next THIRTY YEARS?"

We might not agree on everything, but we agree LA needs change and should be a better place to live. I sat down with Jason Oppenheim of the Oppenheim Group to talk about homelessness, housing, and public safety in LA. Looking forward to coming back in two years to ring that bell!

This is a heartbreaking night for Los Angeles. My heart is with the loved ones of those lost in Chatsworth, everyone injured, and those anxiously awaiting information about someone they love. I am also thinking of the journalists and news crews reporting while their own community awaits answers.

For the next 30 years, Los Angeles will be spending $100 million of YOUR taxpayer money EVERY YEAR to pay for the convention center. That’s enough money to: - Hire 625 firefighters - Remove 185 mil sq ft of graffiti See what else $100 million buys: convention.nithyaforthecity.com

I’m so excited to have the support of UNITE HERE Local 11. The people who make this city run should be able to afford to live here. I don’t think that this is a radical demand. I think this is the least our city owes Angelenos and together we will build it.

Los Angeles has a childcare crisis. The most rewarding experience of my life has been raising my twins in Los Angeles. But many LA families are having to face a choice between earning a paycheck and knowing their child is safe and cared for.

What happened to Jose Carlos Hoyos-Munoz demands justice.
What happened to Jose Carlos Hoyos-Munoz demands justice.

The video is horrifying. It shows LAPD officers striking him while restrained. It shows five officers pinning him face-down on a jail bunk. A spit hood had been placed over his head. Soon after, he was found unconscious and not breathing.

Jose was in the midst of an apparent mental health crisis. He needed treatment. Instead, he died in LAPD custody.

There must be a full, independent investigation, and the people of Los Angeles deserve to know exactly how this was allowed to happen. There must be accountability for the officers involved and for LAPD’s policies and training for how it treats those in its custody.

Accountability cannot stop with one investigation. We need a city where a mental health crisis is met with care before it becomes a police encounter, and where being taken into custody will not become a death sentence.

Los Angeles’ film industry is already in crisis. The Paramount–Warner Bros. Discovery merger would deepen it, costing an estimated 4,500 film and television jobs, more than 10,000 jobs regionwide, and billions of dollars in economic activity, according to a new County report.

Homelessness has risen, people continue to sleep on the streets, and we have had no meaningful action from City Hall for four years. I'm running for mayor to change that.

This election is a choice between the broken status quo or bringing new urgency, accountability, and people-centered results to City Hall. Angelenos deserve a government that works: one that fills potholes, repairs streetlights, lowers housing costs, and houses the homeless.

Los Angeles only uses 12 out of our 28 pothole repair trucks. Why? We can’t pay for the drivers. City Hall signed contracts we knew we couldn’t afford, which resulted in a budget deficit, forcing us to make cuts to city services.

Los Angeles’ housing crisis has gone on far too long. Rents have skyrocketed, homes are overcrowded, and working families are being pushed out of the city every single day. We have a moral imperative to build, and to build now.
