Second day in a row that I have been stuck in blue sky, high tide gridlock in Marin County. Truly a taste of things to come. Highway entrance next to under construction affordable housing project is under several feet of water. Also underwater: the park-and-ride lot, the bike path and the bus stop.

Tides in Southern California are running more than a foot higher than the late-20th century baseline. In San Diego, the 1.16-foot tidal anomaly during the past hour rivals Sept. 14 as the anomaly so far this year. #CAwx

While gas costs over $4 a gallon, the Trump administration just decided that people should spend even more at the pump. They predicted that gutting fuel efficiency rules would cost the average family $1,600 in gas over a cars’ lifetime, but they’re doing it anyway and Big Oil will reap the profits.

Love this. If you're humoring requests - I'd love to be able to toggle on/off the Metro Rail / BRT system and Metrolink to visualize where there are gaps in the rail system that could be filled with fast/frequent/reliable bus service with dedicated lanes.

“The Bay Area's Top Three Highway Bottlenecks After Potential Transit Cuts

Fundamentally Mayor Bass doesn’t understand that *she* is the one who needs to bring officials together, host press conferences and inform the public. That’s the job. That she doesn’t get that, over and over, is why we need to elect someone who does: Nithya Raman. www.latimes.com/california/s...

Thing I don't think we talk about enough: California's gasoline consumption has declined from 15.6 billion gallons in 2017 to 13.2 billion today. A 15% drop in consumption, while real state GDP increased from $2.7 trillion to $3.4T in the same period. Data from CA Dept of Tax & Fee Admin and FRED.

I'd love to read more reporting in the local press on the sentiments of LA Millenials going into the November elections. 30-39 year olds are the cities largest cohort, followed by 20-29 year olds. I don't think we've seen enough coverage of their frustrations with how things are going.
