We noticed a pattern on our street and are thinking about what it means about human behavior. One side of our street has posted no parking on Saturdays during the day (close to a busy farmers' market). Most Saturdays no one parks there. But on some it fills up with cars and the City tickets. 1/3

Here in the SF Bay Area personal car trips are the single largest emissions category. Converting car trips to more efficient modes & reducing trip distances via infill development & housing affordability strategies is how we can address this.

AC Transit fares remain inequitable -- charging cash riders more per ride with no access to free transfers or weekly caps. And there are no places to add cash to a Clipper card in many neighborhoods. This disparity hits unbanked riders who can least afford to pay more. AC Transit & MTC must fix it

Today US DOT rescinded regulations on disparate-impact liability. Sounds wonky but it's a critical way Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 has protected communities of color from disproportionate harms from transportation decisions and required proactive analysis on the fairness of benefits

Yes, it has cleared the internal federal review. We haven't seen the language yet. They should post it 1 day prior on the Federal Register in "Public Inspection". This internal review looks like they are trying to do it as a final rule with no public comment period. www.reginfo.gov/public/do/eo...

Great quote! BART does allow the Bay to function. The photos in this article seem selectively taken to make BART seem empty. My regular experience at rush hour is standing room only. It is not the pre-pandemic sardine levels, but still 'take your backpack off' levels. (efficiency=shorter trains)

The Clipper fare system upgrades in the Bay Area have great benefits - free transfers, fare caps, open payment. But unfortunately they leave behind people without access to Clipper. This is pronounced on AC Transit where cash riders don't have access to a weekly pass www.kqed.org/news/1206773...

This is heartbreaking and infuriating on so many levels. All of the details illustrate how our society is designed for some and against others. The $1.5 million bond for both parents makes the injustice so clear. Zero consideration given to what is best for the surviving 10 year old.

A judge issued a TRO in a case brought by @kingcountymetro.bsky.social challenging changes to the FTA Master Grant agreement. I learned from reading the legal filings that FTA changed their master grant agreement to say federal requirements includes executive orders and cooperating with ICE.
