will say it again: the most effective way to curb far right agitators like Lowe, "Tommo" et. al. would be to stop their ability to earn money for it from social media or live streaming. So much of it is grifting for revenue, not attention.

This day in history. 1844. The first international cricket match began in Montréal between Canada and the USA. The losing American captain complained that the Canadians treated his team very badly and was one of the worst teams to deal with and when a reporter questioned that he said quiet, piggy.

DVDs aren't low-tech. They're just things you can actually own, that won't disappear overnight, that don't require a monthly subscription, that won't suddenly get reedited, that won't start putting adverts in the middle and that won't sell your data to the worst people in the world.

Not only did I meet Robert Kraft, I worked for him. His kid Jonathan asked me to “remove the black music” from my gameday playlist in ‘94 & I refused so they fired me. I was the cheerleader director at the time. I sued them for wrongful termination and won. So yes, I know that motherfucker.

‘Danny Tommo’, leader of the balaclava-clad blackshirt rallies, says he will travel to Piddington “in the coming days” following the Parish Council’s stunt referendum: “I want to hear about safety concerns for their women and children.” Tommo was jailed for two years in 2016 for a knifepoint kidnap.

Around 10am on 17 June 1940, a small plane landed on the island of Jersey, in need of fuel. Strapped to it with rope were four suitcases, whose contents included 100,000 francs of French government money. Inside were two passengers. Sir Edward Spears, British liason to France and Charles de Gaulle

We have just had proper rain here for the first time since June - and I have just come to realise that the purpose of Test cricket as a ritual in England is TO MAKE IT RAIN IN THE SUMMER. We have angered the gods with The Hundred and we must return to the old ways.

If you ask someone today to name the builder of Hadrian's Wall, they would give you a funny look. But historical memory is odd, and right up to the 1800s we forgot who built it. Until in 1840 John Hodgson, an obscure Northumbrian clergyman, published the LONGEST footnote in history... 1/22
