Biochemical reconstitution of sister chromatid cohesion establishment during DNA replication

Biochemical reconstitution of sister chromatid cohesion establishment during DNA replication
Genome inheritance during cell divisions relies on replicated sister DNAs being connected by cohesin rings. Minamino et al. reconstitute sister chromatid cohesion establishment during DNA replication using purified budding yeast proteins. The experiments yield molecular insight into more than one way in which sister chromatid cohesion can be built.

Retraction of a paper from the lab of a Stanford Nobel Prize winner. The PI dismissed our combined concerns as 'micro-duplications that are typical image processing artifacts'. But after consulting with an 'image analysis expert', the authors retracted the paper. pubpeer.com/publications...
Two images from the PubPeer thread at https://pubpeer.com/publications/F7C42C356B2E7049FDB68A434EF4F8.
They both show fluorescent microscopy photos with a black background, and cellular structures in fluorescent green, red, and blue. Pubpeer users (including myself) have marked these panels with colored rectangles, to highlight repetitive features, suggesting photos were digitally altered.
