It's a shame the rationalist brain geniuses that came up with Roko's Basilisk couldn't come up with "what might hundreds of millions of human beings want and be highly motivated to do to me if I loudly spent years smuggly promising to take their jobs and livelihoods away from them?"

I'm led to believe that the Prime Minister has actually issued a statement about last night's pogroms. But in order to read it you have to have an account on the combination far right propaganda/child abuse image website run by the US billionaire who has called for a fascist coup in Britain.

THE CHAFF PROJECT Hi! Are you cis in the UK and you'd like to support trans rights? Great! How: buy a trans flag pin and wear it in public. Why: chaff is an overwhelming amount of false positives so that when a missile gets close to the plane, it hits the chaff and not the plane.
A very simple diagram showing radar, a chaff cloud, a confused missile and an airplane. The confused missile is aiking for the chaff cloud and not the airplane.

To reiterate something I said the other day: a big part of the reason why we're in this mess is the utter cowardice mid-sized powers like UK have demonstrated, first over Israel's brazen war crimes & now Trump's unabashed warmongering. If we keep playing along it's only going to get worse.

I was asked to give my thoughts on generative AI usage in games - here they are!
From the article:
"I think that until the bubble bursts, AI will be used by quite a few game companies, and perhaps even beyond the bubble," says Brandon Sheffield of Necrosoft Games, which released the RPG Demonschool last year. "Look, I am not a fool – I understand that AI has some uses. Primary among those being the devaluing of work, the cheapening of labour, the laying off of creatives, and the generation of busywork for humans to fix whatever AI generates."

"It's also useful for burning through water, raising the prices of RAM and chipsets globally, and poisoning anyone near the data centres that run them. So there are a lot of use cases for AI. From spurring on the death of the creative endeavour to dissolving our economy, AI is absolutely gangbusters at what it does. We don't use it in our studio though."

Under the current establishment consensus we are facing a de-humanitarian ratchet. Things are permitted to get worse but not better. Attempts to improve life are denounced as woke threats to national security. Attempts to lock up more people, degrade living conditions are just realism.
