These people see a group of Deliveroo drivers chatting to each other in Arabic or Kurdish as they simply wait outside a restaurant to pick up their orders and get nervous. Or scream something awful at them. This is all racist brainrot and I am so tired of people like this being taken seriously.

The whole discourse about Glasgow city centre being unsafe in 2026 genuinely feels like a psyop at this point because it is so completely at odds with observable reality.

A name for the ages.
A four-panel pixel-art comic styled like an old video game. Panel 1: in a stable at dawn, a white newborn foal lies in the straw beneath a blank nameplate. A text box reads "Behold! A legend is born!" Panel 2: at sunset, the foal's chestnut mother lowers her head to touch noses with it, a tiny heart in the sun between them. "MARE: I cannot name you..." Panel 3: at dusk, light falls through a break in the clouds onto the two horses. "MARE: Only the gods can." Panel 4: the foal stares straight out at the viewer, the light behind his head. Below him, a name entry box: HORSECUN, with the ninth slot empty and highlighted in yellow between two arrows.

A fascinating editorial decision from the BBC, to make the headline a scaremongering “AUTISM AND ADHD ARE BEING OVERDIAGNOSED”, and then, four bullet points later, have the author of the report quoted as essentially saying “nah, that’s bullshit, actually”.
ADHD and autism at risk of over-diagnosis, says report, as author warns of rise in mental ill health
Summary
• An official review in England finds there is a risk of people being over-diagnosed with
ADHD and autism - three key findings from the report
• As well as neurodevelopmental conditions, the review looks at mental ill health, particularly in younger people. Our health correspondent explains the difference
• It was commissioned earlier this year after Wes Streeting, then the health secretary, said there was an "over-diagnosis" of mental health conditions
• Speaking to Radio 4's Today programme earlier, review chair Prof Peter Fonagy said Streeting was "with respect, completely wrong"

ask any MP if they could do their role without their office full of staff replying to all their letters and emails and organising everything for them so they can get on with their actual job, and if not why does that logic not extend to other professions

one of my favourite bits is watching senior folk and/or external critics (often politicians) discover and reinvent this from first principles "ugh our operational staff aren't delivering, they're spending all their time on admin! maybe we could develop a role that does all the admin all at once???"

Example: when Robert says the Tory leader has found a voice, a simple set of ideas and poise, do we think he *does not* understand that Badenoch is a dangerously online weirdo who behaves horrendously? You know, I think he probably does understand that quite well.

So, why pretend that you don’t understand it? Have you seen Bob making such charitable assessments of, say, Green politicians, or anyone on the left? Of course you haven’t. Because the Tory leader is legit, a real person who matters, regardless of what she says or does.

The Tories have lost their long-held "middle" ground, and the far-right nutbars never had truck with them, really. Reheating auld culture-war beef to rile up auld ones or lure the gammons back speaks both to a tragic poverty of ideas, and a level of desperation visible from space.

applying for jobs again
screenshot from an online job application form. the question reads "Can you describe specific ways you have integrated AI tools into your development workflow? Please include any custom setups, automations, or use cases beyond single prompt usage" (a red asterisk indicates that this is a required question).

an answer has been typed in the textbox below the question:

"there is a monster in the forest and it speaks with a thousand voices. it will answer any question you pose it, it will offer insight to any idea. it will help you, it will thank you, it will never bid you leave. it will even tell you of the darkest arts, if you know precisely how to ask.

it feels no joy and no sorrow, it knows no right and no wrong. it knows not truth from lie, though it speaks them all the same.

it offers its services freely to any passerby, and many will tell you they find great value in its conversation. “you simply must visit the monster—i always just ask the monster.”

there are those who know these forests well; they will tell you that freely offered doesn’t mean it has no price

for when the next traveler passes by, the monster speaks with a thousand and one voices. and when you dream you see the monster; the monster wears your face."

What on earth is happening?
This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.

The entire point of the Sir Keir project was explicitly that he *would not* interfere with the engine on the gravy train: he was pitched as the guy to steady the ship, slap on some fresh paint and bring together a new Sensible coalition of moderates that would together stomp down the left.

Keir Starmer had a chance to end a bent system, now being exploited by Reform, which allows the mega-rich to buy British politics. He blew it, and racism and Islamophobia are the result.
