anyway, even """well-meaning victim's advocate""" support of the death penalty naturally leads to the conclusion of livestreamed firing squads. if it isn't rooted out through abolition, barbarism will only fester. something to chew on this morning!!!

its cool that we get the so-called side-effects of "socialized medicine" - months-long waits, hallway hospital beds, closed hospitals - with none of the benefits such as 100% free healthcare. it all sucks and americans have the privilege of paying $50,000 per night for it. makes you think!!

We absolutely should be horrified by reports of planned public executions and see them as an overt re-embrace of spectacle lynchings--while also understanding that the story of the "modern" death penalty in this country is inextricable from that history, rooted in racial violence & white supremacy.

Couldn’t agree more. Pillay is a champion. We’ve had some luck in the last few years at the OHCHR, but Pillay distinguished herself by her refusal to compromise, her staunch commitment to justice for victims, and most importantly, her refusal to be intimidated by political figures.

putting aside the engagement bait of it all, it is easy for me to understand the "i will get the AI to read to my child" guy. he has no actual affinity towards his family. his wife and child are quest rewards in his mind. this is a very common mindset among "grindset" guys.

I agree with this. The people who keep screaming that it's "cheaper" eat the same depressing, boring food, day after day. I'm not making chicken and rice and sandwiches and stew for weeks on end. Sure, that would be "cheaper" in the long run. But you're eating like a dog.

Yesterday I learned that pepper comes from peppercorns. I actually don't ever use pepper (or salt) so I don't own any and never did. Neither of my parents cook so I never saw it as a child. If I saw it somewhere else, it never registered.

Musk has personally spent multiple times more money than the cost of the entire MA Senate race trying to swing seats around the country. The money spent, compared to his vast wealth, is equivalent to an average American buying 1 movie ticket w/popcorn and a soda.

Trump historically wore Brioni, an Italian luxury company that makes suits in Italy. Here he flashes a Jos. A Bank label, a US company that long offshored its production to China and Bangladesh. They carry an associated label called Joseph Abboud, which is made in US. Curious he didn't choose that.

I think part of the problem is that, in seeking to firewall against Nazism since WWII, we created a vacuum in knowledge about Hitler that leaves space for this sort of idiocy. The best antidote to these people would be greater popular familiarity with what a freak and loser Hitler really was.
