It is clear that people are using AI to review papers and grants. Often as a tool, not as an off the bottle answer for review (though some do). One of the signs of this is the detail of the negative comments and the errors, often minor and irrelevant to the conclusions. 🧵

With a motivating push from @christlet.bsky.social I made a new Fiji plugin, CurveMorph. The idea was to create a tool for kymograph generation along the dynamic (bending/shaking) filament shapes (microtubules, cilia, neurites, etc). The logo was made using the plugin. github.com/UU-cellbiolo...

Despite higher cell numbers and longer lifespans, large animals don’t have a higher cancer rate: Peto’s paradox. Elephants carry extra copies of tumor suppressor genes, while whales rely on enhanced DNA repair mechanisms! It’s fascinating that nature found different solutions to the same problem
