Legal 500 workers win full pay claim after strike action

Dozens of publishing staff at Legalease, the publishers of legal industry-bible The Legal 500, have won a dramatic victory in their industrial dispute over pay.

Staff who had been on strike for two and a half weeks accepted an offer that fully met their original pay claim of a £2000 pay increase for every worker. This was despite the company originally claiming it would not pay such an increase.

It's worth remembering that the large proportion of "elderly people, vicars and grannies" getting arrested was not an accident, it was in part because many of those people knew that they would have an outsized effect on public perception in proportion to their personal loss from being arrested.

One of the reasons "most homophobes are secretly gay!" never really made sense to me is that it's clearly not true for many other bigotries. The vast majority of racists are not motivated by a secret fear that they might actually be members of a different race. Why assume homophobia is so different?
