Also note that the alternative views presented are "war on children" vs "tragic and unbearable conflict", which 1) are in no way incompatible and 2) do not cover the position of the people carrying it out, which is that it's a great and noble undertaking.

Even if you think the phrase "war on children" implies killing children is the sole purpose - I don't - arguing about whether thousands of dead children are the purpose or just something they're willing to do to pursue their actual aims is very different from it being libel that they kill children!

It's funny how having weird arbitrary rules you feel compelled to follow is considered a trait of autism, OCD, etc. but to a large extent what this actually means is 1) having arbitrary rules that come from within not without, and 2) having much more awareness of those rules and their arbitrariness.

I personally have written some poems with the intent of performing them and some without, and I don't think the former are particularly better for performance than the latter (with the odd exception that only works visually/aurally).
