I was walking down the sidewalk with 3 giant bags, like trying to hold them in front of me to take up the least amount of sidewalk width, and a white man in a suit literally shoulder checked me rather than swerve a small amount to his right

Today I realised my pattern is: have frantic adrenaline from 6-10 am, settle into a rhythm 10am-1pm, eat lunch (tricking my body into thinking we are safe) and then I have to fight physical collapse every day at like 2 or 3pm. Someone who is good at the economy please help me, my family is dying

Genuinely this, like idgaf if the CPI or whatever says wages are better in real terms than in 2008, wages are still not enough compared to current and imminent debts and also *this imbalance is completely, soulcrushingly unending*

I am thinking about the difficulty of like, "make choices that feel uncomfortable but are more in line with how I want to be rather than in line with how I see myself (i.e.being loving rather than isolating and offputting)" and its just one more kind of fake it until you make it?

It's a similar scenario to the Christian nationalists who think they're bringing about the Second Coming through fucking around in the Middle East. It should be understood that the religious irrationality of AI doomsday scenarios makes their believers *more* of a threat in the make-believe of it all

New tactic: replying to any rambling AI generated email with "this email is pretty long, let me know when you have time for a conversation instead". Im not reading this shit and spending 10 minutes trying to unpick what you are actually trying to say under copilot's gross cloying word vomit

Do you think a tired flat affect and bird skull earrings will be enough for people to leave me alone today
Selfie of the world most tired and fed up person, just exhaustion and bad feelings. Plus bird skull earrings

As they did at last week's protest at Mt. Sinai, protestors administered HRT in public "to humanize gender-affirming healthcare and affirm the right of trans people to make decisions about their own bodies."
Protestors inject themselves with HRT. Folks holding signs - some of the legible words are "liberation now!" and "our genders our choices our futures" and "We don't want your cis kids to be trans we want your trans kids to survive"

We went to the Yarmouth Clam Festival a few years back and the speed clam shucking started all contestants with a bucket of clams while last year's winner started with two, she easily got through those and needed two more buckets, it was wild how big her winning margin was

I can't get over how many conversations I have with people in positions of power that include "we obviously we need to build a system with a working culture of humility. Not me, I mean for other people, obviously. I'm in charge for a reason, and it's because I'm smarter than you"

This all starts with a secret handshake between writers and yard workers, a mutual understanding that if writers don't leave cans behind, and they don't touch the identifying numbers on the cars, then there's largely no harm. Writers will go to meticulous lengths to respect the latter rule.
Blue and white graffiti on the side of a train with the numbers 110798 meticulously left alone and untouchedGraffiti with the freight car identification, CTTX 692054, untouched on the bottom left. The graffiti is black and white on a mostly bare metal car with yellow highlights.Graffiti avoiding the markings TTGX 697986Graffiti avoiding markings on both the inner part of the piece and also going up and around the numbers with the blue highlight color. The markings are FB OX 50 52 84.

Job applicants and employees with a time limited right to work
Job applicants should not be treated less favourably if they produce acceptable documents showing a time limited right to work in the UK. One a person who has time limited permission to stay in the UK has established their initial and ongoing right to work, therry should not be treated less favourably during their employment, including as to the terms of their employment, opportunities for training, promotion or transfer, benefits, facilities or services, or by dismissing the worker or subjecting them to some other detriment, other than further right to work checks as prescribed in the guidance and Code of practice on preventing illegal working: civil penalty scheme for employers, available on GOV.uk

I filed a complaint at work about what I saw as discrimination against someone whose right to work in the UK was at risk, and as a result it turns out now they will not employ people on any kind of time-limited visa (eg. spousal visa). So this is now worse and I feel like 100% shit

Lets see if I can successfully post photos yet, here is a commemorative portrait of the world's best cat. She was so perfect and shy and never made this face until we brought a terrible kitten into her life, a kitten with no common sense and no respect for elders, my poor sweet baby was plagued
Photo of a really sick looking traditional tattoo of a black panther head, with one ear clipped and a notch in the other bc my poor dead cat had ears like this

This problem is in academic philosophy, too, like every Ethics 101 class has "is eugenics ok?" as a topic framed 30 different ways so all you do is hear/have to argue yes, eugenics is great actually, over and over. Its *horrible* and I cant imagine how many great philosophers this prevents

There is so much resistance needed right now, so many ways society is structured to consolidate power instead of uphold our social contact to each other. It feels hard to me to know where I am able to make change, where I need to push even if I am unsuccessful, and where I need to rest

I know people are saying ‘terrorism’ is a worthless term because of shit like this, but this is exactly what the people in charge want it to mean; any type of resistance, no matter how inconsequential, is extreme violence and will be treated as such

Its the 2 year anniversary of us taking in this silly billy!
The world's teeniest kitten, we think 6 weeks old, small and black and fuzzy in my lapThis silly cat, now 2 years old, with her head stuck in the handle of a paper bagThis silly cat is climbing up the window screen, where is she even trying to go! She is finally curled up and cute. A cute photo was surprisingly hard to find bc all i do is take pictures of her being goofy, which is 98% of the time.

Backed out of an interview today bc a) every job requires me to be a shitty part of a shitty system, shitting on others in some kind of exploitative way while also being exploited myself and b) why restart the two-years-to-employment-rights clock when there's no real change
