For anyone panicking about this, the samples were roughly 40% independent, 30% Republican, 30% Democratic (which is not really reflective of the state's partisan lean). There are even equal numbers of liberal and conservative voters. Normally YouGov is better, so I'm dismayed to see this "poll"

the Kansas GOP has a true moderate faction that lost its patience with the GOP at the state level under Brownback and Trump I, leading many to endorse Laura Kelly and a few to outright switch parties in office. this year they seem to be getting fed up with the national party too
