I have been vocally condemning far-left antisemitism recently but I totally agree with this! Virtually all major Jewish institutions in America are Zionist right now. Organizations like JFREJ and JVP are trying to change that to varying degrees but it’s a major obstacle and pretty depressing.

I’ve never been in denial about it but I do think today was the first day I truly realized how much antisemitism is spreading and being normalized in online far-left circles. It’s scary and frightening and is only going to get worse if the left insists it’s not a problem.

I do not dispute for one second that many, many Jews support Israel and that antizionist Jews like myself are a minority. It’s very depressing. But almost 40% of Jews under 45 say Israel is committing genocide — that’s a higher rate than the U.S. population at large.

There is no institutional, systemic antisemitism in America like there is with Islamophobia and anti-Blackness. And I agree that antisemitism gets disproportionate attention. But so long as people keep shooting up synagogues, antisemitism remains very real and vital to combat.
