Moran has seen what happened to Biden, McConnell, Graham, Feinstein, Lautenberg, Ted Kennedy and probably others that I'm forgetting, and unlike a lot of high ranking Republicans doesn't seem that crazy on a personal level. Also he might just be sick of Trump.

The 2030 senate map also has a few problems for the GOP. Sheehy and Moreno are awful candidates who only won because of Trump being on the ballot, Cruz will be up against a much bluer Texas that may have just voted for AOC, and McCormick might need to deal with Josh Shapiro.
