This Day in Labor History: September 30, 1919. A shootout occurred between armed guards protecting a union meeting of sharecroppers in Elaine, Arkansas and whites seeking to intimidate them. The next day, the governor ordered the military to crack down. Let's talk about the Elaine Massacre!

Let this sink in. Cornell University refused to refund Jane Doe's tuition the semester she was raped. Without this money, she could not transfer to another school. Essentially, she was forced to stay on campus where she saw those seven rapists frequently. Eventually she dropped out of college.

A third of undergraduate women say they've been sexually assaulted. But on average, Cornell reported expelling just one attacker per year.

It's not new, but literally every shadow docket hearing, the Supreme Court is reinforcing its illegitimacy. It is not a court. It is not doing the work of a court. In the interest of the rule of law, we need to ultimately abide by its rulings, but there is no future without significant court reform
