Yay, a brand new Escaflowne illustration for the Sunrise 50th anniversary project by Hirotoshi Sano, who was a key animator for the series.

Once again, for the politicians, business leaders, and journalists still actively posting on X/Twitter: why? You're using a platform that's owned by someone who's trying to break up your country. The juice isn't worth the squeeze.

The current state of Toronto Municipal Politics:

King of the Hill NIMBY meme:
Hank: Are y'all with the NIMBYS?

Sailor Moon: We're not NIMBYs. We support 100% truly affordable housing, provided it has full neighborhood approval and satisfies 16 key sustainability metrics and provided the housing is for long-term residents, NOT transients and it doesn't infringe on parking or neighborhood character, or overload the transit system, or result in a private developer making any money, and only after comprehensive community review to ensure it doesn't cast shadows and contributes to the decommodification of housing altogether and ultimately the abolition of capitalism itself

Hank: Yeah, this is it

This is what the data centre next to my downtown Vancouver apartment sounds like at 4:23am. Land use zoning claims to separate industrial and residential uses. Instead, it bans apartments near rich people and forces apartments next to noise and pollution like this.

John Rooney confirmed many years ago that YTV was ALWAYS getting DBZ from Ocean. They acted as a middleman distributor, even for the Dallas-dubbed episodes. Switching to the Westwood dub just made sense business-wise. FMA/Case Closed was the first and only time YTV worked with Funi directly.

Scenes such as this where the light is reflecting on the water are accomplished through a process called "backlighting", "underlighting" or "bipack glow". To create the effect a matte is cut and light is shone through the holes.
