I showed my brother some paid illustrations I did yesterday and he said in a bored and disinterested voice that AI could have done it better and faster if I used it

Jackie Chan | Miracles | Mr. Canton and Lady Rose | Fight Scene

I am unsure about what the location of this Jackie Chan final set-piece fight is supposed to actually be. Is it like... a rope factory? youtu.be/6h9XttVyxlM?...

I like how the official Canada social media account is like, "Happy Mean Girls Day! Rachel McAdams is Canadian, you know."

I'm visiting several cities during this trip and when Sloth asked how I was going to get around without renting a car, I explained that this side of the country has trains

My friend @cpi.pinball.horse has a wonderful hobby of researching and restoring old pinball and arcade machines, some of which are 100 years old and move completely mechanically. It was honestly an incredible collection to behold.

I haven't been in my hometown Ottawa during the fall in 20 years, so I'm having fun being a tourist

Fandoms reacting to mergers, layoffs, and other disruptions in the entertainment industry solely through the lens of how it affects or benefits their particular favorite IP always make me furious. I get the impulse, but it has real “how was the play Mrs. Lincoln” energy.

I watched TNG's "Measure of a Man" and "Q Who". I love how TNG was able to write wonderful interiority into its one-off officers like Captain Phillipa Louvois and Ensign Sonya Gomez*, as if they were fully realized people who stepped into the episode and stepped out to continue their lives unseen.

I'm sure this is a Simpsons reference but Sloth loves to bring home random things he scavenges from the street ("But it's free!") so I gotta double check

If I were to rank the Star Trek season seven "sure, why not" romantic pairings from worst to (questionable) best, I would actually go 3) Chakotay and Seven 2) Julian and Ezri 1) Worf and Troi

thinking about how specific animators would be leads on specific characters and how that was more akin to casting an actor to a character and how that probably gave senior animators more leverage and so of course studios stopped doing it and all characters got mushed into one style of motion.

"Forgotten Island" is opening this weekend and unfortunately does not seem to be tracking very well financially, but going up against "Avengers Endgame: Encore" does feel a little like, "It's Malibu Stacey but she's got a new hat!"

My favourite controversies of the NZ Bird of the Year competition is when they banned the kakapo in 2022 for winning twice in previous years, and when there seemed to be Russian interference in their 2019 contest and they said, "Well, maybe it's genuine interest from Russian ornithologists!"
