it would be cool if U.S. journalism could clearly inform readers that the trump administration dismantled what was left of our already shaky regulators and replaced them with perfomative vibes
"It's almost like a constitution, in a way," Mr. Trump said while flanked by SpaceX's Elon Musk, Meta's Mark Zuckerberg, Anthropic's Dario Amodei, Nvidia's Jensen Huang, OpenAI's Greg Brockman, Google's Sundar Pichai and a throng of other tech executives."It's not clear exactly how the accord will work. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told reporters the AI firms agreed to "multiple layers of auditing and controls," including internal evaluations and external audits. The findings of auditors would be independently reviewed by each company's board of directors, Zuckerberg added.

I obtained a recording of Peter Thiel's Nashville Antichrist lecture. He was asked to respond to something I wrote in @newrepublic.com epublic (below). He evaded the question, but responded: "I don't think I'm the Antichrist, [maybe I'm] lacking in self-awareness...You shouldn't trust me."
quote from Gil Duran story on Thiel and the Antichrist: Thiel co-founded Palantir, a software company literally named after an all-seeing orb controlled by an evil wizard in The Lord of the Rings. Palantir is partnering with the Trump administration to supercharge government surveillance at a moment when the president openly embraces authoritarianism. The irony is so striking it almost seems like a confession.

Noteworthy imo: Ohio has been inundated in the last three weeks with non-stop trans panic ads. During every Ohio State game, every anti Sherrod Brown ad is about "he wants to trans your kids!" and that is it. They have nothing else. Would be nice if that strategy ends up costing them in the end

Proposition 38 will award $4 billion to one unnamed research center. Under the very specific criteria, only one center seemingly qualifies.
