The she-wolf who nurtured Romulus and Remus, depicted in mosaic form as a maniacal black dog with sharp teeth and white eyes.

Title: Just announced! Three new Gruffalo books commissioned from bestselling authors!

Lee Chilld:
The Gruffalo just wants a quiet life, but when a crime syndicate moves into the deep dark wood, he must use his terrible claws and the terrible teeth in his terrible jaws to protect the fellow.

Sally Rooney:
The Gruffalo moves to contemporary Dublin. He
ill ever see past his orange eyes, purple prickles and poisonous wart.

Kazuo Ishiguro:
After a long absence, the gruffalo returns to the forest and attempts to make sense of his past. Encounters with a mouse, a fox, an owl and a snake uncover long-buried memories, regrets and revelations.

Once again - the problem isn't "ooo AI models are too scary and powerful". It's that the developers of these products are irresponsible dolts, who have absolutely no intention of changing how they behave. Stop making excuses, use existing laws and make them responsible for their own actions.

Rachel Johnson who was interviewing her didn't push back at all and even seemed to be agreeing with her. Here's a fuller account from the police. Absolutely scandalous that an MP is not condemning this act of terrorism
Detective Chief Superintendent James
Derham, who leads local policing in the
Bexley area, said: "It was miraculous
that nobody was killed or seriously
injured in the large explosion caused
by Rees

"He showed a complete disregard for
the welfare and safety of the people
who live in, or were travelling through,
the area at the time of the explosion -
all because he was unhappy with the
ULEZ scheme

"CCTV from a bus travelling down the
road at the time shows how it narrowly
missed the blast of debris by seconds

A big thing missing in the mayoral model - which I'm broadly a fan of - is democratic scrutiny at a similar level. The ideas here are... fine but miss the need that, if we are to devolve power to a local level,we also need to devolve accountability. Models similar to the GLA need to accompany it

The only way we're ever going to 'solve' Ofsted is to stop it being a competition. Have two categories: all fine/needs support. If you buy into the idea that the competition is what makes people work harder you'll never get away from the problem. This includes posts about 'doing well' in Ofsteds.

The biggest gain of the UK joining the EU is ours. In this geo-political context, the UK in is to the EU's advantage also. The risk of raising barriers too high on Schengen and the Euro would be harmful to both. We know we will have to abide by free movement and pay a bigger budget contribution.

Discworld QOTD, from Pyramids
It will certainly show what our ancestors would be thinking if they were alive today. People have often speculated about this. Would they approve of modern society, they ask, would they marvel at present-day achievements? And of course this misses a fundamental point. What our ancestors would really be thinking, if they were alive today, is: "Why is it so dark in here?”
