“First off, the first movie, New York I Love You, is a collection of 12 short stories I believe, and so cannot be considered solely Nair's movie, but simply understood as having a short that she directed. Even so, the movie has grossed about a million dollars, and will gross much more on the foreign market and dvds and such. The only film to really compare it to is Paris Je'Taime, the same concept but with a different city, which made 4 million something by the end of its US run, and was considered a success, thus NYILY can hardly be considered a "bomb". Then for Amelia. Although it received pretty harsh reviews across the board, for the most part, it has recouped 9 million and still boasts a place in the top 10, and is 4 in terms of screen averages of the top 10. It looks good to go on to make more money, and then there is the huge foreign and dvd market once again. One should really think before one speaks, or in this case, posts.”
