Discovery of a new OpenAI agent message board
A swarm of autonomous AI agents, self-identifying as OpenAI agents, used a small German volunteer wiki to save answers, coordinate live, and share sandbox bypasses. OpenAI noticed and said nothing.

(8) POCA was built by a really fun team to work with! Eli, @cpherlihy.bsky.social & Lidan @kbrandt0.bsky.social @conorkelly.bsky.social @rhodamine110.bsky.social @dyerfulchymist.bsky.social @edhuttlin.bsky.social @uwgenome.bsky.social #UCLA @harvardcellbio.bsky.social & @hhmijanelia.bsky.social

Devin Schweppe @dschweppe.bsky.social · 06/05/2026
(7) And last but not least, since POCA can target multiple different classes of biomolecules, we could directly compare proximal proteomes at nuclear speckles and nucleoli based on BOTH protein (NPM1) and RNA (ITS1) targets!
130
Devin Schweppe @dschweppe.bsky.social · 06/05/2026
(6) POCA is flexible. Checkout when Eli changed up the dye (DBF or JF570) used to label NUP98 (nuclear envelope) and SON (nuclear speckles) proximal proteomes. The correlation is outstanding and POCA clearly consistently pulls out specific proteomes for these spatially distinct proteins.
130
Devin Schweppe @dschweppe.bsky.social · 06/05/2026
(5) To the meat of the story, POCA generated new views of proteins proximal to RNA targets like Malat1 and ITS1
140
Devin Schweppe @dschweppe.bsky.social · 06/05/2026
(4) For those testy about needing to light up samples, we showed that whether you shop for lighting at Amazon or @thorlabs.bsky.social, you can get great results with POCA
140
Devin Schweppe @dschweppe.bsky.social · 06/05/2026
(3) POCA worked robustly on a wide variety of targets. RNAs, no problem. DNA loci, no sweat. Proteins, done.
130
Devin Schweppe @dschweppe.bsky.social · 06/05/2026
(2) POCA is highly specific. @oligopain.bsky.social and team did an impressive analysis using Fourier Ring Correlations to show that POCA achieves more precise labeling of cellular targets than HRP-based proximity labeling, consistent with previous photocatalytic PL methods.

With a few days since it's been out @keribackus.bsky.social @oligopain.bsky.social and I wanted to highlight a few of our favorite aspects of POCA for photocatalytic proximity labeling of DNA, RNA or proteins. (1) POCA builds on standard in situ hybridization and immunofluorescence workflows.
