The image is of a four panel comic.
The first panel shows Sarah, the protagonist, holding a red ball labeled "A SILLY MEME".
The second panel shows Sarah taking the ball and going through a door labeled "GROUP CHAT".
The third panel shows a group of women sitting together and consoling one woman in the center. The woman in the center is saying "...And that's how it happened. It's been the worst day of my life."
The fourth panel shows Sarah standing in the doorway behind them awkwardly holding the red ball.

New analysis from @propublica.org: Ectopic Pregnancy Deaths Have Nearly Doubled. It’s Worse in States With Abortion Bans. www.propublica.org/article/ecto...
A chart showing the rate of deaths after an ectopic pregnancy, comparing states that banned abortion after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022 with those that did not. At the start of the chart, in 2014, the rate is higher in states with abortion bans, but the rates in the two groups of states are not far apart. The rate increases in both groups of states, but the climb is much steeper in states that banned abortion.

That's part of the lie though, Age verification "providers" often have in their terms of service that they don't keep your data and will dete it after verification. Catch is, they don't actually verify you, they link you to a different service, which *does* keep and sell your data.

Most will do something like "it's Lake America for US users only, Lake Ontario for everyone else", which is how OpenStreetMap has handled it as well (after a lot of debate / edit wars):
The name of the Gulf became politically contentious in January 2025, especially on maps. As OSM is not a consumer-facing product per se, the OpenStreetMap Foundation's longstanding policy regarding geopolitical disputes is to prioritize the on the ground rule by default but also record information about notable alternative claims, so that data consumers such as renderers and geocoders can choose what to present to end users.

As of February 2025, the Gulf's node has tags indicating its many names, most notably:
Key Meaning Value Justification Introduced
name Common name in the local language Golfo de México Most of the Gulf's littoral countries speak Spanish. 2020
name:es Common name in Spanish globally Golfo de México Traditional name. 2010
name:en Common name in English globally Gulf of Mexico This name remains overwhelmingly popular both in the U.S. and abroad and so far continues to be used by most news and print media. 2008
official_name:en-US English name preferred by U.S. government agencies Gulf of America Official U.S. federal government position per GNIS and GNS, as ordered in Executive Order 14172. The order is only binding on the U.S. federal government, but the name is very unpopular according to opinion polling and so far rarely used in news or print media.

I think a significant difference between the labor rights battles of the 19th & early 20th centuries and today comes down to: rich guys used to have to actually *live in a town* and be concerned about their physical safety. These days they can skip town by taking a helicopter to their private yacht.

My answer remains the same, in my view the commonwealth of massachusetts is the state most likely to defend access to gender affirming care if you're looking for a place inside of the u.s. to move to, and you're asking me? it's mass.

A new rule from the Trump administration this week means the federal government will stop covering gender-affirming treatments for transgender children who rely on public health insurance like Medicaid.

But in what appears to be a first-in-the-nation policy, Massachusetts officials with MassHealth say the state will keep covering the costs of treatments like hormone therapy.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services finalized a rule Tuesday blocking the use of Medicaid money for transgender care for anyone younger than 18. The rule is set to take effect this fall.

Tanner v. United States, 483 U.S. 107 (1987), was a United States Supreme Court case in which the Court held that juror testimony could not be used to discredit or overturn a jury verdict, even if the jury had been consuming copious amounts of alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine throughout the course of the trial.

Trump and Republican are losing *military families* on the military
About 200 family members packed into a banquet room at the Island Club, a catering and event center on base, demanding answers from the acting secretary of the Navy. At times, spouses of sailors on the ship were in tears asking leaders what was being done to address issues of mental health and exhaustion, the two people who attended told MS NOW.

One parent said her daughter feels that she is never going to come home and believes she is going to die on the ship. Others asserted that the Navy had not done enough to take care of the sailors as they fight this war.

One woman questioned the mission and said she found it difficult to be proud of her sailor when she believed the military was “killing innocent civilians” and her sailor expressed guilt about what he was doing. Her comment was met with applause from the audience.

Here's the serious bit for anyone who'd rather skip the 4000 words of jokes
Because the truth is, tech doesn't have an image problem. It doesn't have a message problem. It has an intention problem. What's wrong with the axe murderer who broke into my house is not that he hasn't successfully persuaded me to buy into his narrative. What's wrong is that he's trying to kill me with an axe. Similarly, when you launch a product that's designed to put millions of people out of work, block access to sources of verifiable truth, replace human creativity with slop, and lower the barriers to every sort of atrocity, the problem isn't that you haven't told the public a good story about those things. The problem is that you are trying to do them. (
There are things in the world that are more important than money. The fact that you seem not to believe this, that you seem to think any motive beyond ruthless acquisitiveness is fake, dishonest, or childish, is the heart of your problem. Your attitude is not by any means unique to tech, but the
