The thing about Digger is that it feels like there's so many different layers on display, but in reality it's just the one and when you realize which layer that is it instantly all clicks into place. You could not have timed it better as WB's last film before the merger.

HEAVY SPOILERS but this clicking makes Digger my film of the year I think. Immediate reactions were I thought it was messy, but no it was very clearly hiding the point of it all under an avalanche of everything else so you would miss the forest for the trees in a way that recontextualize everything.
